Question
i have baby hamsters and they are dwarfs one is a runt and the mom isnt feeding it what should  i feed it?

Answer
Hi Kori,

It's very difficult to hand-feed a small baby animal.  The chance of survival isn't the greatest.  You should leave the runt in with the rest.  It's very important to *not* touch the babies, especially the runt.  If you touch them, the mother may reject them.

If the mother is still not feeding the runt, then you can try feeding it.  Buy a small dropper from a pet store and fill it with either goat's milk or kitten's milk.  Feed the hamster a drop at a time until it is full.  After you've finished feeding it, rub your hands with some of the used bedding from the hamsters' cage and then gently rub the baby hamster's skin.  This will help erase your scent from the baby.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
