Smells?

I recently purchased a air freshener dispenser, but the only place I can put it is
near my hamster cage. Will the smell affect my hamster? Are there smells I need
to stay away from?

thank you for your question.
I wouldn't use an air freshener in a room with a hamster. Their sense of smell is very acute and the smell would probably bother it because it's so powerful. It may be a pleasant smell for us, but for the hamster it's like someone dropped a whole bottle of perfume.
