hey again just asking will the first lot be always smaller than the other lots? hhamster gave birth last night and only 7-10 there as on webpage say 15-20

Hi Daniel,

      Yes, sometimes the first litter will be smaller. The average, in my experience, is anywhere from 10-15, but I have known some hamsters to have up to 20. It really just depends on the Mother. Sometimes in larger litters the mother will kill some of the babies because she feels that she cannot take care of them all.
