chinese dwarf hamster pregancy

hi. i just got two dwarf hamsters this past week and they are about 7 weeks old. i have a boy and a girl. my girl hamster bits me everytime i or anyone else tries to put their hand in the cage to get her out. ive been told that this means that the hamster is pregnant.. is this true? and also is  there anyother way that i can tell if she is pregnant or not??? please and thank you

Just because a hamster bites doesn't mean they are pregnant. Some of the dwarf varieties do tend to nip more than the Syrians as they can be a bit more temperamental, therefore this isn't an indication.  The only way of knowing for sure is waiting for the gestation time which is usually between 18 and 21 days to see if she has a litter.
