CAN MY HAMSTER RECOVER FROM WET TAIL

Question
Hi Blake,
I hope you can answer my questions.I have had my little Ashes for about 2 weeks. I noticed on Monday night she was not her normal self. she was not playing on her wheel. I took a look at her in her house and found she had the first stages of wet tail. She is about 5 weeks old. I had some Clavamox in the house for my cat, cause she gets urinary infections. I gave some of that in a dropper. I did some research on the web and it said pedialite and kaopectate. I have pedialite cause I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. After giving her some of both with a small dropper and more antibiotic's, she came out of her house and was on her wheel all night. Is this a sign of recovery? SHe is still eating and drinking. I am changing her bedding everyday and disinfecting her tank and all her stuff with a bleach and water solution. I also took her wood house out and replaced it with a disposable shoe box cut in half. Is there anything else I can do for my little girl's hamster. We both lover her very much. Thank you for your Help. Hope to hear from you soon.

Answer
Hi. I would reccomend going to a pet store and purchasing dri-tail. It is a medication that should clear your little hammie's problem up. Its a very common disease unfortunatly. If you caught it early, your litte guy should be fine. It sounds like hes doing good from what you're telling me. Good luck!!
