Gerbils?

Question
Hi! I just got a pair of gerbils a couple days ago. I've done lots of research and i have heard that gerbils usualy only squeak when they are frightened or making mating calls(?). One of my gerbils always seems to squeak, quite loudly too, even though he gets along with the other gerbil (both males from the same litter). Do i have a normal, but vocal, gerbil, or is something wrong with him? Also, how much water should they drink a day? Mine dont seem to be drinking that much, but its hard to tell as i can't be with then 24 hours a day! THANKS for your help!

Answer
Gerbils don't drink a lot of water. If your gerbil is squeaking a lot it could also mean that he may be having a cold as sometimes squeaking could sound like sneezing. I would consider taking the gerbil for a vet checkup just to be sure the gerbil isn't having any respiratory problems
