Question
Last night I bred my 5 month old female with my 3 month old male and I think it worked but this morning I was reading a website saying not to breed a younger male with an older female, will something go wrong? Is my female too old, what is the age I should stop breeding my girl? When is she too old? Thanks

Answer
Generally you breed a young female to an older male, but I believe people prefer to breed older males is because of the potency of getting the female pregnant. I would personally stop breeding female gerbils at one year of age.
Well she should be a little younger for her first litter but I don't think she should have any problems in the birthing. :)
