something bulging from the rear end

my daughters hamster is about 5 mths, and have noticed he keeps getting like a balloon type thing come from his rear end. it goes away a bit but then when he starts to run on his wheel it comes back again.

There is probably nothing wrong with your hamster.  Often the testicles in some hamsters look very strange - balloon shape, lopsided, etc. Sometimes they are much larger than other times.  i suspect it is this.  Your hamster will have reached adulthood now and it could be that this is why his testicles look different.

Some hamsters do get testicular cancer, but often when they are older.  This isn't that common, however.  If you are concerned, then it is always worth getting a vet to check as this will put your mind at rest.
