hamster pees in sleeping area

My Syrian hammie pees in his sleeping area.  From what I've read that seems to be unusual.  Is there something I can do to discourage this (I don't like him sleeping with his urine) and should I be concerned?  I bought him from Petco this past Christmas so I'm guessing he's less than a year old but more than 6 mos.  Any suggestions?

Actually, it can be quite normal, many hamsters will pee in their sleeping area. Generally I try and move their sleeping area away from their urine spot and see if that works. My hamster actually pees on his wheel, and I find that very weird, but there's not much I can do.
I hope this helps. I know it's weird for a hamster to pee in his sleeping area, but trust me, my hamster actually used to do it. I had to move the spot.
