Cage/Food

Question
Do you know why hamsters take ALL their food from the dish and move it to their nest/bed area?

Answer
Yes, one of the things hamsters are famous for is hoarding food.  Any hamster not at the point of starvation puts any food it gets into its cheek pouches and puts it in it's sleeping place or clean corner of the cage.  It does this because there, it can eat the food in peace and safety.  Just make sure to change the stored food every so often for cleanliness.  Also if there gets to be a large amount of food in the corner hold off on giving the hamster more food until some of the stored food is eaten.
