Question
my hamster chews the bars on her cage i,ve given her chew blocks and some toys but it hasn't stoped, can
you help me to solve the problem.

Answer
Hi Willow,

Yes, you'll definitely want to stop your hamster from doing that - when hamsters chew on cage bars, they lose fur on their noses, and they can develop tooth problems.  Buy Bitter Lime Spray (or Gel) at a pet store, or online.  (I believe The Ferret Store online sells some.)  It's marketed towards ferrets, but it's safe for all animals.  Spray or rub it on the cage bars.  When your hamster tries to chew the bars, she'll taste the bitter lime, and she won't want to chew on the bars anymore.  You may have to repeat this every couple of days until she's broken of the habit.  Also, continue to provide her with chew sticks and toys.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask :)
