Cutting a hamsters hair?

Hello! I have a very simple question. Are you allowed to cut a hamsters hair/fur? If I can, I know to be very careful. I need to cut it because it is very messy and hard to care and brush everyday. Thanks So Much! Jenna

Yes, technically you could cut your hamster's hair without any problems, but I wouldn't recommend it. It would be very hard to get an even cut, resulting in the hamster having odd lengths of hair as it grows out. You also might have a hard time judging how low to cut, and you don't want to cut into the hamster's undercoat.
