2 hamsters in the same cage

My hamster seems so sad all the time I want to get her a friend to play with I don't know if it's a boy or girl I do not mind if it brreds but I'm afraid that they might fight or hurt each other. What should I do?

Allyssa, unless your hamster is a dwarf, its not a good idea to put 2 in a cage. If your hamster is a dwarf, it still wouldn't be a good idea since you don't know the breed of the hamster. If thier both male there might be a chance of fighting, and if thier a male and female, you will eventualy get more hamsters then you want :) I think your hamster will be fine on its own. In the wild thier solitary creatures anyway.
