Question
QUESTION: my winter white dwarf hamster is pregnant. she has already a big belly but she loves to play on the wheel. should i remove the wheel? 'cause maybe it'll stress her.. she's about to give birth anytime... what do you think? :)

ANSWER: Dear Bianaca,
thank you for your question.
Removing the wheel now would be a lot more stressful for her than running on it all the time. It's better to change nothing in the cage now until the babies are born and coming out of the nest by themselves (at around 16 days of age). The hamster knows what to do and she won't stress herself out by running on the wheel too much.
I hope I was of some help to you

QUESTION: can you please tell me how to change the food and water inside her cage? i'm worried she might feel threatened and eat her babies.. she gave birth to them near the water bottle and food bowl.. i just don't know what to do.

Answer
Hi and thanks again for your question.
I would suggest simply adding another food bowl in another place and just changing the water, she is after all used to that and it shouldn't stress her out. Make sure you supply her with enough animal protein, she needs an extra amount now that she has given birth.
