Bump on hamster??

Hi,
I have a 1 1/2 year old dwarf hamster. I noticed a couple of days ago that there is a rubber-like brown lump on her underside about halfway through the abdomen. It appears to be a growth, but should I be concerned that this is cancerous or needs to be removed? I noticed her trying to scratch it and I wonder if it is bothering her. Thanks for you help.

Hi Liz,

    It is possible that it is just a growth and it also could be cancerous and need to be removed. The best thing would be to have her seen by a vet and it will also help to ease your mind (with it being brown colored, I am thinking that it is probably a growth).
