how do know when shes pregnant?

I was wondering how you find out if my female golden hamster is pregnant. I place them together and he did his thing with her put I just don't know, she won't let him near her anymore.

Hi Teresa,

    There are 2 ways to tell if your hamster is pregnant. First, after they have mated, check your female every night for the next 4 days to see if she comes back into heat. If she does not, then she is more than likely pregnant. The other way to tell if she is pregnant is about 10 days after they have mated her side will poof out (become really fat). When this happens you can expect the babies in 6-7 days.
    If your hamster is pregnant, you need to start feeding her high protein foods like hard boiled egg and diced carrots. Continue doing this until the babies are separated from their Mother, which is at 3 weeks of age.
    Also remember to remove the wheel when her sides poof out.
