Question
Hello,

I just a rescue dog and she recently had puppies. Her last owner didn't really care about her as much as the puppies. So they sold the puppies before they should have and sold Tabby (the dog I have. She has lot of breast milk and I don't know how to help her. Other have said that I would HAVE to take her to a vet, but I would like to know is they any solution that I could do myself?

Answer
Hi. If she still has a lot of milk, and is  uncomfortable, you could take her to the vet for a shot that helps with drying milk up. You could also cut back just a bit on her food and water (unless she is really underweight, if she is, don't do this), and apply cool compresses to her breasts. Keep an eye out ofr any hard, red, warm spots on her breasts. If you see any of these, get her to the vet. Good luck!
