We had our female together with a male choc lab from day 8 to day 14 of her cycle. They tied at least 3 times. She is still bleeding though, did we separate them too soon

Is she still standing or flagging? If she's not, then I'd say that you most likely got it right. A dog will still bleed, and finish her heat cycle, even if she was bred or became pregnant. A heat cycle lasts for 3 weeks. I'd say that she's fine, and just doing what a dog normally does. If she's still bleeding past 3 weeks, I'd take her in for a check up. Good luck!
