Question
I have a rotiweler who is 7 years old. Want to bred her for the first time.  She started spotting Thursday a week ago.
Is not swelled.  The person who I have contacted said that 9 days after she starts bleeding is prime time for bredding. However nothing is happening.  The dogs are getting along fine.  I might add that we tried in October and she went through a false pregancy.

Answer
HI Linda. You tried in October, as in this past October? That would mean that she went into heat again in just only three months. That's not normal. Because of her age, I would take her in to the vet and have a check up done. I'd also have her thyroid checked. A problematic thyroid can cause cycle problems. I'd also talk to your vet to see what precautions you need to take because of her age. Sometimes however, age will also mess with her cycle. As for the correct breeding days, most people try on days 11 and 13, or on days 12 and 14.
