Question
Would a Welsh Corgi eat a baby bunny?  They are carnivores.  They took them out of a rabbit nest and I put them back in.  This morning nest was unmolested. but an hour later grasses were removed and bunnies were gone.  Maybe the mother took them away last night and put grass back?  Not sure.  We have two corgis and they always eat like they are starving.

Answer
Hi Norman,

All dogs, from the Chihuahua to a Great Dane are carnivores.

It's totally possible that your dogs ate the baby rabbits. If this happened recently, you might see fur or small bones in their stools.

If your dogs are quite active, you can try feeding them more than the feeding recommendations on package. That could fix your dog's voracious appetite.

I hope you will be able to keep your dog away from native wildlife in the future. Domestic animals can be a terrible hazard to the native ecosystems in which they are allowed to run free.

Best of luck,
Patti
