Pom hates balls

Hi, I have a four month old Pomeranian. She hates any type of toy balls. I recently purchased her a squeaky rubber ball and everytime i squeak it she fears it and runs away. What can i do?

HI Daniel,

At the risk of sounding silly, then don't give her balls! There are many other toys that can serve a play function without the squeak in them. Try some of those poofy fuzzy kitty balls or tiny kong balls or tug toys and play retreve games with them.

You can also "bait" them with good smelling food like a tad of liverwurst or kong paste.

And if you really have your heart set on squeakies, muffle the squeaky in your pocket, squeak and treat until she anticipates the reward with the squeak.
