dog treats

Question
can dog digest rawhide treats. It seems my dog has been vomiting and loose the other end.I know I will bring to  the vet. but I'm curious

Hi Barbara,

Thank you for writing to me.  I am not a big fan of rawhide treats.  Many dogs cannot digest them.  Many of the treats come from China and have been found to carry toxic metals and chemicals in them.

My preference is for raw marror bones from the butcher.  Since your dog seems to have a weak tummy, I would suggest that you scoop out the marror before giving it to him.

You can also freeze carrots with peanut butter, make chicken soup and freeze into cubes, stuff a raw marrow bone with peanut butter and kibble, etc.  There are websites that will give you all kinds of creative ideas for healthy dog treats.
