Hi, I rescued a dog almost 10 years ago from a shelter that had seized a mother and her puppies from a cruel situaiton, She was about 8 weeks old, From the time i got her even as a baby she never licked me, unless i had something on my hands. When she was about 5 yrs old, she started licking i came home one day from work,and she she started giving me kisses. and now she kisses me atleast once a day. Now I have her son and he doesnt lick . I was just wondering why he doesnt lick and what made her start licking, I love the kisses and wish he did it to, im sure it is a difficult question to answer so its not a big deal, anyway thank you for you time Kat

Hi Kat,

It's hard to say whey after about 5 years your dog suddenly got more affectionate towards you, and started to give kisses.

If you want your other dog to give kisses, you can actually train him to do so.
