My question is that i have a 3 and a half month old german shepherd puppy and i find it hard to go into my garden and play with her. She's gets so happy to see me and by showing this opens her mouth and bites while she's jumping all over me and playing. How can i put a stop into this and show her it is wrong to bite?

Answer
Hi Diana,

It's normal for puppies to try to bite when they play, but you are correct, it's not a good behavior especially in a dog that's going to get as large as a Shepherd.

Here's where you can read about training your puppy out of biting and jumping:

The key in training any puppy is consistency and patience. If you work with your dog daily, you should see progress very soon.
At three and a half months old, your puppy is the perfect age to go to "puppy kindergarten" obedience classes. You will learn how to control your puppy, and she will learn how to obey basic commands.

Best of luck,
