CRYSTALS IN DOGS URINE

Question
Hello, my dog was diagnosed with crystals in his urine about 3 months ago.  He was put on medication and prescribe to dry food.  His symptoms weren't severe, so the crystals dissolved, however, they still found a small trace of a urinary problem and told me that he may have to stay on prescribed food for the rest of his life.  I gave him the royal canine urinary s/o, but he started to not want to eat it after 3 months.  I am interested in buying the science diet c/d and I do not know how long he will eat this brand.  He can be a picky eater at times as well.  I was told that I cannot mix prescribed food with anything else.  Is there anything I can mix with the prescribed food from time to time when he decides to become picky with his food.

Answer
Hi Linette
I'm so glad you wrote for help. PLEASE take your dog off the Science Diet,. it is death in a bag. RC is not ALOT better but some.
My first response is, stay away from commercial dog foods

If you just can't handle home made. Try Innova EVO,. or possibly Wellness or Natural Balance, or Flint River. Grain free is VERY important.  NO GRAIN. You should also put your dog on Vit E, B complex, C, omegas, flax seed oil as supplements. Also remember, lots of exercise and WATER as much as you can get him to drink.
Good luck with your baby
