QuestionGood Afternoon,
We have a female collie puppy. She is four months and weighs 30lbs!
We have been feeding her "Eagle Pack Holistic Select Large Breed Puppy".
Our vet suggested switching her to the adult formula on our next supply.
However, I notice that there isn't a huge difference between the adult and puppy large breed food.
She currently is getting 1 & 1/2 cups twice daily.(3 cups daily).
Should I consider lessening the amount to 1 & 1/2 cups daily? Perhaps spreading it out over 3 meals instead of 2?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Laura
Should I consider lessening that to
AnswerYes, doing so will slow growth. That, along with keeping her lean is the best thing you can do not to give her the sturdy joints she needs for a long, active life. Neither I nor anyone else can say how much to feed without examining her. I can give your a link explaining how to do so, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx Adjust her chow as needed. Next time you are in, have the vet confirm your judgment.
2 meals is fine now and you can cut back to one at 6 months.
