Kangal adolescent diet ; Test for CPL ( canine pancreatic lipase)

Question
I have an 8 month old Kangal, 40 kg at present. He has had complete blood, electrolyte, fecal, etc. within one month - all within normal ranges or normal results.  I have been feeding cooked chicken and barley, but diarrhea became severe and finally ended up with uncontrolled vomiting. A hospital stay with anti-emmetics and antibiotic with Hills ID diet cleared it up, but after one day at home (still with Hills ID canned and some kibble that has chicken in it) stool is loosening again.  Could he be allergic to chicken?

Answer
Hi Lish, I would have another Fecal done again.  Sometimes parasites do not show up on the first fecal test.  Also, I am wondering if this baby has Pancreatitis.  Have you vet do this test:
1. check for Giardia
2.  CPL levels  ( canine pancreatic lipase)  ( blood tests)

Hope this helps....

You can offer a bland diet for 3-4 days - See Pips:

Let me know how you do?
