Question
QUESTION: Have an 8 month old Malamute.  Only had normal stools from about 5-6 months old on Eukanuba Large breed puppy, then back to soft stools.  Used Fromms duck and sweet potato, Canidae, Purina One Sensitive stomach, Native lamb and rice, Natural Balance sweet potato and venison.  Been recently given two separate antibiotics, dewormed and antidiarrheal with no luck.  Not frequent stools, just always soft--kind of mashed potato.  Any other ideas?

ANSWER: Hi Cindy - Yes, I am wondering if your dog have an overgrowth of yeast in his system...
What are you currently feeding?  I can help with adding a fiber supplement to his diet and a wonderful Probiotic ...

So, get back to me with what you are currently giving this kid for food... ( brand and flavor)

Talk to you soon.

QUESTION: Native Brand Lamb and Rice Level 1.  Thanks much.

Answer
Ok, Let's keep the Lamb and rice for now but add some Innova EVO dog food to your brand.....YOU can find Innova EVO at most pet stores:
If you can't find Innova EVO then get Merrick GRAIN FREE brand - OK...
Do a 50/50 mix of the two foods for 2 months.  AFTER a few months you may want to switch to the Innova EVO or Merrick Grain free and drop the other brand.
Also, add 1/8 of a cup of CANNED pure pumpkin 2 x per day ( 1 amount in the am and 1 amount in the pm)- NO added sugar:
This is good for the belly and will firm up the stools.
Do the canned pumpkin for a few weeks...
AFTER 2 weeks just give 1 dosage per day of two tablespoons.
Do this long term ( at least 40 days ....)

NEXT -
HOW about some PROBIOTIC:
Natures Sunshine makes a great one:
Try this : give 2 per day for 2 weeks / then 1 per day for 30 days.
This is good for your belly too....Humans and Pets
Flora Force - great to get rid of yeast in the belly...
Helps the intestines.

Also, I would like to start him on some NuVET Immune system booster vitamin...Here is the link for more info:
Helps many body systems - great with digestion...

You would need 2 NuVET wafers per day for 10 days and then you may be able to drop down to one per day...

Ok, so - NEW food mixed with your old food.
A Probiotic, Flora Force is a great one...
and Some NuVET Plus
OH, and The Canned Pure pumpkin is a MUST....
let me know how all this helps....
