Question
QUESTION: We have a 7 year old pomeranian who is a bit overweight(27 lbs). She is on thyroid and heart medicine and the local vet says she is fine but just over the past year she has started sneezing and her nose just runs and runs with yellow and white (snot). I know that is gross but that is what we are dealing with. Sometimes at night it sounds like she cannot breathe. The doctor gives her a shot but it does NO good. We give her over the counter sinus medicine. NOTHING seems to work. We just want her to be able to breathe without blowing snot everywhere...
PLEASE HELP MARIE!!

QUESTION: We give her some kibbles n bits the light version, green beans, treats... I know she needs a stronger diet but she despises diet dog food. Please help me!

Answer
Ok, she needs to get something better than the Kibbles n bits - that is Awful...Sorry, no other way to say it: POOR quality and she could be very allergic to it.
Let's go with one of the following:
YOU can find them in the local pet store:

Merrick dog food / Senior / YUM YUM - lower cal and Human food...
http://www.merrickpetcare.com/store/detail.php?c=15&s=20293

Or
Merrick Before grain / Turkey
http://www.merrickpetcare.com/store/detail.php?c=115&s=20485

Also, Innova  makes a good one:

Innova LOwer fat:

You can buy some Innova Dry and put the Wet Food on top:
Innova Senior has less fat...
http://www.innovapet.com/product_line.asp?id=1409

Anyway, a better quality dog food with little to NO fillers will help the allergies.
Give it a good 30 days and you should see.
Also, no treats unless they are Innova, Wellness, Merrick, or Solid Gold - a good holistic brand will do the trick

good luck
