Question
Marie,
I notice you have experience with pugs. I recently adopted a brindle pug (so cute!) from a pug rescue in Florida. He is 4 years old and of all the paperwork that came with him nowhere did it recommend having teeth pulled or his hernia corrected.
Since getting him I have taken him to the vet several times for varying reasons and the vet insists that he needs teeth pulled and his hernia fixed. He came with both "issues" as I indicated before. Do you think he really needs these invasive, and expensive, procedures? Neither seem to be bothering him. This is a new vet and I am new to the area so it's difficult for me to solely trust her opinion.

Hello Sarah, If he has an abscessed tooth or major decay, then yes have the teeth or tooth pulled.
Also, if he has some baby teeth, that never fell out, that can be a reason to pull a tooth.

As for the hernia, depends on how bad it is.  I would get a second opinion on that.  If it is a strangulation hernia, it needs to be corrected ASAP.

BEST wishes with your little PUG PUG
