hi i have a 7 .5 month old male American bulldog and he weights 68.5 lbs i was just wondering what the average weight for a male his age should weigh?

I can't say.  I do have an answer to how you need to modify how much you are feeding him.  

Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them.  Each dog is different.  Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. At his ideal body condition, he may look thinner than many dogs.  He should outlive them too.
