Question
what can king Charles spaniel x cairn terrier eat when its a puppy? and what bad for it to eat? what a good diet for it? wb soon xx

Answer
Is this a new Puppy? What did the breeder feed it? It is always best to feed a new pup what the breeder had been feeding and then OH-SO-SLOWLY introducing any new foods you want her to have. You need to get this pup on a high quality pet food made just for pups. I don't know wher you live but Wellness, Calif. Natural, Innova, Solid Gold etc. all have decent pup foods. The best thing you could do though, would be to feed raw even though some people are opposed to this. But if you decide to feed Raw PRIMAL puts out a dynamite food--nuggets and patties etc. Puppies need more fat than adult dogs so I would stick with Wellness for pups if I were you. I can also recommend:
www.healthypetnet.com/YorkieSue  This food is kibble only but it's holistic and very, very nutritious for dogs.

Read up on what you should never feed your dog so that you don't accidently give her something that would hurt her. Stay away from Science Diet, Iams and anything else the vet sells. Vets are in business and have contracts with dog food companies and what they sell, for the most part, is garbage. These companies have great advertising campaigns and the public is so fooled by this. THE WORST FOOD IN THE WORLD FOR a DOG IS BENEFUL. This is pure crap, very bad for all dogs and can even hurt your dog down the road. DO NOT FEED BENEFUL.

Learn to read labels, please. Learn what dogs should eat and do not be fooled by great advertising campaigns. Beneful appeals to everyone becuase of the adorable commercial and their lying ad campaigns..people really believe what they see on TV---DON'T!!!

I cook for my dogs, feed them Life Abundance (from Healthy pet Net)as a treat) and supplement every meal with REAL FOOD PROBIOTICS AND DIGESTIVE ENZYMES. It took me years to realize that all the commercial foods on the market were LOADED WITH synthetics and I did not want this. But for you and your new pup, try the wellness or another HIGH QUALITY pet food. Go slowly or you will give your dog diarrhea--puppies digestive systems are very, very delicate.
