dogs & ice cream ; Try a good healthy snack;

Question
is it safe for my 4 month old black German shepherd to eat vanilla ice cream? my wife and i take him for walks right by a DQ and want to know if we can get him a small bowl when we stop for milkshakes?

Just an update-  Keep a good snack in your pocket - some beef stick or a small stick of cheese;
Even a NuVET wafer will be a great treat:

Hi Mark,  Ice cream for dogs is a "NO NO"  -  too much sugar and hard to digest.
A few times per month won't hurt as long as it's 4-6 ounces or less.

Just bring some special treats on the walk for you dog.
