50lbs down to 20lbs

Question
Beagle mix age 15.  She has lived a year losing a lot of weight.  She has been tested several times for cancer and ran blood work for her liver and kidneys and I believe diabetes.  She eats, though not near as much as she use to.  She was usually over weight at 40lbs.  What could it be?  What can I give her to gain weight natural or at the store?  We use Purina Senior with glu/chrondritin.  She seems a bit very arthritic in the rear legs.  I tried the arthritis medicine, expensive, didn't seem to make a change and I was concerned for her liver.  She once had a cancer on top of her skin by her neck removed, but nothing since.  She did have a large fatty growth under her front left armpit, they would not remove because of her age many years ago, but with weight loss that has 1/2 in size at least.  They figure she has cancer.  I do not.  They have been guessing and testing for years and only this year has she exhibited any problems.  The whole time they were testing was because I wanted them to do surgery to remove the fatty growth so she could walk better.  Any suggestions? Cheers - One of Maries Oh Boy Jennie- Beagle mix at age 15 is a good long life. Sounds like she has been lucky so far.  There could be many things going on with your kid. Many times the metabolism does change and the dog gains weight.  Thyroid troubles is always the first guess.  I see your vet has put her through many tests.  How about we add to her diet and give her a supplement to help her immune system and legs, too.

Continue on the food you are using and add this food to the bag...Do a 50/50 mix of the new food and the old food.  Keep her on this mix for a long time.  I bet it will help.
