Question
i ahve a 10 month old rottweiler puppy because of our crazy schedules our dogs only get fed once a day (we have a year old lab, and a 9 month old jack russel) but when they do get fed my rot gets at least 3 to 4 cups. i have my mom think she is under weight but i think she looks fine and when she goes to my moms to visit to me i think she get a little fat (she gets 6 cups a day of food and doesnt really exercise) when i took her in a month ago to get spayed she weighed in at about 43 pounds. what is a normal heathly weight for a 10 month rot puppy?

Answer
I think 43 pounds would be less than average.  No average tells you what your puppy should weigh.   Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them.  Each dog is different.  Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Large breed dogs do fine on one meal a day, and the JRT may be OK too.
