Riley did it again

QUESTION: riley had gotten hold of a plastic tupperware lid buy the time i realized he had chewed a good amount off lots were on the floor ,thought nothing of it til 2 days later 6 am he began to vomit in the crate once then a hour or so later he did again in this was mucus and 2 pieces of plastic about 1/4 of an inch maybe a little smaller I was horrified but after that he was fine that was sunday morning he ate 3 meals pooped 2 xs after each meal .then thismorning he started to vomit again anly once but nothing came out he acted like nothing happened went on his way ate 3 meals again today seems happy pooing fine except his poos were a little loose and a tiny bit of blood in the morning poo .my husband not to bug out he will pass it or throw it up.what do I do my vet bills are mounting ,i dont want to over react.   help.    linda

ANSWER: Hi Linda - Give this little DEVIL some x-tra canned pumpkin - it will coat the belly and intestine and help pass any more of the foreign objects...
What a little DEVIL he is.

Prince Riley   QUESTION: Hi marie,I have given him the pumpkin all along since he was so thin i thought it would put on some weight,it has I was  unsure of the pieces he vomited they werent little slivers and if hes trying to throw them up maybe they are to big to pass through,my fear is they will obstruct his intestines the pieces must have been in there for a few days,and will they cut his intestines and cause a more serious issue.I hope Im worring for nothing but I feel responsible for not watching him more carefully.I trust your expertise im just a worry wart.thanks for tour quick response.  your the best!!!   linda    riley thanks you too here he is now hes getting bigger by the day.

I am glad Riley is getting big and strong - I am sure the NuVET Plus is making a big difference... Also, the other good nutrition helps, too.

I was thinking some x-tra canned pumpkin to help coat the intestines as the plastic passes.  VETS will also say to feed pieces of bread a few times a day - to help the plastic move thru.

So, for the next 2 days - double up on his pumpkin intake.

Let me know how he is... Make sure he is giving you two good poops per day.  If he starts to vomit more than 1 x per day , call the vet... They may need to put a scope down and pull out the plastic.
