ANSWER: Hi Sara - I sure like the liquid pure salmon oils - ONLY -
Yummy chummies or Grizzley -  You can buy them at some pet stores or on-line , too.
The two dogs - Smaller ones ( 1 tablespoon per day - )
The BIG Kid - Two tablespoons per day
Mix into the food.
Sounds like you have made some GREAT changes.

Also, the NuVET skin and Coat supplement is the BEST -
Also, NuVET is a Allergy Blaster and Immune system booster -
check it out for the kids or Place the dog with the MOST Problems on the NuVET Wafer treat.
( the 50 lb dog need 1 per day)
(the 80 lb dog needs 1 1/2 per day)
The BIG kid can have 2 - 2 1/2 per day
If you can't afford to place them all on the NuVET -
Just try it with one of the dogs .... and see....

QUESTION: Oh I was told that with Salmon oil Vitamin E had to be given as well or it could cause a viamin E deffeciency.  I would like to go with Salmon Oil...pricing the NuVet is too much for my pocket book at the moment...and Grizzly is a little high for me as well...I already spend 50.00 per 40lb of dog food every week..haha...but I have priced the human salmon oil which my vet has said is fine to give in liquid or pill form and is much better on my bank.  Feeding 3 big dogs is costly...but I want to do whats best for them with what means I can.  Let me know if you have any other suggestions about the salmon oil.  THANKS!!!!

Answer
Hi Again - When you use a Pure Salmon oil you don't need Vit E because it is already in the Salmon naturally.
Here is the statement from the Grizzley Folks -

Production of Grizzly Salmon Oil and general info:

Grizzly Salmon Oil is extremely well protected from going rancid by nature itself. A salmon has roughly 25% oil in its body mass and lives for several years, so it has established a complex variety of natural antioxidants to protect the oil, a.o.alfa-tocopherols also called vitamin E, when manmade and asthaxantins. Our proprietary process for producing Grizzly Salmon Oil is based on food grade salmon. It is very gentle and leaves natures balance of antioxidants in the food grade salmon oil, i.e. in the bottle.
This protection is more than outstanding compared to any manmade attempt to protect the oil. We also add a little Rosemary Extract so that we assured of a year shelf life.

Our process elevates the temperature to about 170 F for 5 - 7 mins, which is enough to release the oil, but not enough to harm the oil or the antioxidants in it.
The oil is then separated from the fish mass by industrial centrifuges, cooled and sent to bottling....
****the salmon oil does contain Vitamin E naturally--********
but we do not add any to the oil..
We don't disturb it at all! -- the dogs like it better if it tastes like fresh fish.

Also, our bottles are designed to keep air exposure to a minimum, which also helps keeps the oil from going rancid.
Our research has shown that when using Grizzly Salmon Oil--you don't need to add extra Vitamin E.
Please let me know if you have other questions.

It may be worth looking around for a sale price on Grizzly Salmon oil...
