There are many, many high quality premium foods on the market now if you want to use a commercial diet. they are more expensive but may well cut down on veterinary bills over the whole life of the dog, as good nutrition is so much a part of maintaining health, especially as your dog ages. How old is your puppy? I can recommend a few brands but as for the formula, I'd need to know how old your dog is, and how active. Let me know and I can offer more concrete suggestions.
