QuestionMy 4 year old dog recently had surgery for removal of struvite crystals. The vet recommended we change her dog food to Royal Canine SO or Science Diet c/d. I'm looking for an alternative dry dog food that doesn't have so many artificial additives.
AnswerGood afternoon, Sally.
In general, you do want to feed a high quality, meat based food with minimal to no grains.
Ideally, adding a high quality meat based canned food would be even better.
Do make sure to keep an eye on your dog's urine PH and if she has had a recent infection, do have her urine checked again to make sure there is no infection still present.
