Eating habits

I have a 1 yr. old male jack russell I just rescued that weighs 14lbs. How much do I feed him a day.

A good place to start is the chart on the package.  My Pro Plan kibble bag suggests 1 1/4-1 1/2 cups a day.  I would divide it into 2 meals a day.  Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs.
