What should i feed my pregnant miniature schnauzer?

Hi, I have a one year old miniature schnauzer, and she is pregnant. I wanted to know what kind of food should she eat and how many times a day should she eat, and if she will have to eat any vitamins. Thankyou.

What are you feeding now? start with that and I can help more. If it's a decent food she will simply need to eat more of it, especially in the third trimester. IS this your first breeding? Do you have a mentor, someone in the breed who can help you? Don't add supplements, calcium and Vitamin A in particular are problematic. If your bitch gets fussy in the early stages, don't panic, this is normal. She should recover from that and begin to eat well - if not, you can use foods like tripe or high quality canned food to tempt her. Home made is ever better, but it MUST be well balanced during pregnancy, so I don't advise people to try this without professional guidance.
