Riley and Kacey

I dont know if in the confusion we mixed up the two pets problem Riley is not getting mineral oil he get 1/2 cup dry natural choice,1 table spoon of pumpkin 3xs daily thats all.Kacey the constipated kitty 1/2 can urinary tract diet by hills and 1/2 teaspoon mineral oil 2xs a day  with urinary tract dry to nibble on through out the day about 3/4 a cup thats It.he never was a big water drinker so we got him a drinking well he used it for a short time then didnt like it he drinks from the sink in the bathroom or the tub fawcet,but hes seems to want to drink more often every time i pass the bathroom he sitting on the floor by the tubI turn on the water he goes for it.hes not eating as much as he has been it must hurt to go so hes avoiding it .he did the same thing when he had the bladder infection after a while he associated the litter box with pain,it took some time to retrain him I had to physicaly put him in the box and hold him there and he would go, I did that just recently when he didnt poo for 3 days and he did go but it was a struggle for him.If not mineral than what ?thats what the vet told me to give him back a few months ago ,he had a short bout with this same issue it simply got better .Hes had no dietary changes only thing different is we got Riley .and the kittys life hasent changed because of it ,same bed ,same feeding place,same if not more love and attention.he just wont go,he pees fine,go figure.Ill talk to the doc about that shot for the bee stings god I hope that never happens again It took 20 years off my life at 49 that doesent leave me much time to spare.hope this explanes things a little better.whats bad about mineral oil?   thanks once again marie,  linda

Hi Linda- Oh, glad that Riley is not on Mineral Oil..
Sorry, I am mixing up the two kids..

Ok, Mineral Oil can deplete the electrolytes if given long term.  There are much better alternatives for your cat kid.
Again, he needs to get the NuVET feline - call Joan about this ...ok

Also, How about this:

Low cost and good for Kacey:

If mineral oil doesn't work for your cat , try unflavored, unsweetened Metamucil (available at Walmart), a 1/2 of a teaspoon mixed in with his (wet) food every day. Try to get some WET canned food mixed into his dry food... Just a teaspoon of wet to make it all taste better.

The Metamucil for a few days and it always does the trick~~~~~
The minute he's regular again, I stop. The more his own system is left to function 'normally', the better.
Then, the NuVET Feline can take over where the Metamucil left off....
NuVET will keep him regular and healthy.


As for the BEE Sting... I can't believe he did not tell your about the EPI PEN - You shouldn't walk the boy outside without it... You need to have this on you at all times.  Your Riley may grow out of this Allergy in time.  Also, the NuVET Plus will help Riely to be protected by many allergies..
