stealing food off of the table

Question
I have a 4yr. old yellow lab, he has just started taking food from our dinning room table when no one is around. I was wondering if if we are feeding him enough. He weighs about 100lbs. How much should he be eating? he gets about 5 cups of purina lamb& rice every morning, very little snacks, would feeding him more solve this problem? To the best of our knowledge, he has just started to do this. PLEASE HELP! THANKS, Leo

Answer
Hi Leo,

well first off, 100 pounds is really very big for a lab:

Before I crunch the numbers for you, is 100 lbs his ideal weight? What do you think he should weigh? Is switching to a premium food an option for you at this time? Can you feed twice a day instead of only once?
How much exercise does he get?
