QuestionDear Marie
I have a Samoyed bitch aged 11 years who has recently been diagnosed with Struvite & Calcium Oxilate bladder stones. She has had them removed and the vet has advised that i put her on a diet of Hill Prescription U/D.
I am very worried after finding that it is not recommended for longterm use and would really like to try a homemade diet if at all possible.
Please can you advise if there is anything I can try.
Many thanks - Claire (UK)
AnswerGrain-free dog food; SoJo's
Hi Claire - There is a product you can try that is for sale in the UK - it is called SoJo's dog food mix ( the green bag is grain-free).... Buy the Sojo's and add cooked beef ground hamburger ) - make sure you cook your meats.
SoJo's is sold in many UK stores or here is the link:
http://www.sojos.com/index.aspx?affiliate=petnurse
MUST get the Green grain-free bag/ only
They also have 2 kinds of Grain-free treats...
If you would like to use the SoJo's --- start out slow, as to not Shock the system.
Do 1 meal of Sojo's and 1 of the Hill's x 10 days... Then, slowly work your way off the Hill's product.
If you can't find Sojo, let me know! I can suggest another one.
