Potty training question

Hello Labman, you have given me great advice, so thanks. Well I spoke to you before about potty training my puppy using my balcony until he has all his shots. That has been going well. My question is, most times he goes pee and poo at the same time. Then sometimes he only pees when he goes potty. If he doesn't do both all the time, should he go back in his crate? Usually after he poos after dinner, he only seems to pee (once in awhile he will poo, but not alot) Im thinking that if he has to poo, he will, but I have been crating him if he only goes pee. Then he ends up being crated for a while with the whole back and forth outside thing, but still doesnt poo. I feel bad because I figure he probably doesnt have to go and gets confused because he did pee and doesn't understand why he's in there because he pee'd when he went out.

Try to keep him on a regular schedule.  You should be able to see a pattern of only a few bowel movements in a day and about the same time, with more frequent urinations.  Keep in mind, exercise stimulates elimination and resting in the crate or sleeping delays it.
