Hi I feed My Pitbull puppy Natures Recipe the Puppy Lamb and rice meal is that a good choice or should I try something like Pedigree.

HOw old is your pup? Ok, since you have written me I will be honest with you, very honest. I never recommend commercial dog foods of any kind. I have three dogs and homecook ALONG WITH SUPPLEMENTATION--THEY ARE THRIVING.

I really want to send you some reading material on how to feed your puppy so please write to me at DazzlinDaawg@aol.com and I will send you some interesting reading on nutrition, ok? Having said that I do not like either of the foods you mentioned. If you write to me, identify yourself in the subject line so I do not delete you, ok?

If your pup is really young and you are not comfy with the foods you are using, you might want to try Puppy Wellness, Primal Raw (organic),orijen, or one of these supposedly top brands of foods.Before I became savvy about all of the synthetics in ALL COMMERCIAL DOG FOODS, I used these but NO MORE. But, if you pup does not exhibit digestive problems you should be ok. If he does, then you should take the home cooking route--but you must supplement if you are going to do this. And you will need help in order to learn what your pup must have as far as minerals, vits and nutrients.

I am not here to recommend commercial dog foods but before I learned about nutrition and dogs and all that goes with it, I used Wellness and Solid Gold. I found Solid Gold to be too rich for my dogs but you may not. Write to me and I will send you some reading on how to feed your dog--and how NOT TO FEED. And if you are really interested, I will give you the address of my mentor who will recommend fabulous diets for your puppy and get him going on the right foot right from the start. Let me know. Susan
