Healthy but Cheap dog food.

Question
Hello,

I hear all these awful things about most dog food brands out there, like how they're mostly useless fillers and lack the proper nutrition your dogs needs etc. So I want to know what options do I have for HEALTHY but CHEAP dog food?

Brands like Solid Gold and Blue Buffalo I know are good but they're out of the question because they cost too much for too little, and I can't convince my mom to pay $12 for 4 pounds of dog food when she's getting pedigree and other similar brand for like $30 for 50 pounds.

So, are there any dog food brands out there that are come in a size of 40-50lbs for around 30-50 dollars? $50 is pushing it. It's the only way I can convince to buy the food.

Also, I need the food to be LOW FAT, my dog has a medical condition and needs to avoid fat. And any other foods/human foods you recommend I give my dog that are cheap, please say so. Also, is Kirkland dog food good?

Thanks a lot for taking the time to help me and my dog, really appreciated. Take care.

Answer
Hi Jason,

I hear your concern, however if you look at the ingredients and the way most foods are made, the less expensive foods are not fit to feed a pet.  Now you are asking about 50 pounds for around $50.00? that's about a buck per pound and there are no foods, even the "unhealthy" foods are that price.  I have looked into many pet food brands and had come to the conclusion that you are better off paying for a "good" brand and have a healthier pet.  The food I use is for an #8 bag is $17.26 retail and $14.46 on autoship from http://www.pipschoice.com
What about becoming a rep for a great pet food? are you 18 or older? what about your mom? would she like to have an extra income from a great home-based business? If so, I can tell you how to get your pet food for less, and maybe even produce a nice income.  This is just a suggestion. See here http://www.pipschoice.com/cp/56

Back to feeding good for less- what about home-cooked meals for you dog?  Sometimes these are better and more affordable.
You can get some great recipes online. I just have a hard time suggestion any food that is "cheap".  Have you mom look at my website and watch "The Truth About Pet Food" video.
