Question
hi,

I am feeding my TYLER milk and pedigree(dog food) and canned chicken. Although he eats everything..pedigree makes his stomach very tight resulting efforts to push out his crap (sori for the language if u find hid absurd).

I have tried combining it with milk but no good...I have heard that bread is not good for dogs. Any suggestions

Answer
I just answered your question in length and promptly lost it. Anyway, I doubt if you will like my response but I think you need a dog education since quite obviously you did not research feeding a puppy or grown dog BEFORE YOU GOT THIS PUPPY. oF COURSE, he is constipated..he woul dhave to be on that unhealthy diet you are feeding. This is going to be much shorter than what I just wrote cause I can't sit all night and You need so much pet education that I cannot do it all. WHO TOLD YOU TO FEED PEDIGREE AND MILK??? OMG, THAT IS TRULY A NASTY COMBO. First of all, no puppy, kitten, dog or cat should EVER BE GIVEN MILK. People who know pets KNOW THIS. Didn't you do any research BEFORE YOU GOT THIS PUP?? i AM UPSET if you can't tell. I haven't run into ANYONE IN YEARS who didn't know that MILK SHOULD NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER be given to animals.
I'm surprised your pup doesn't have horrible diarrhea. (By the way, the word you were looking for is CONSTIPATION, not the crude words, " pushing out the crap!!!" That's ok, you probably didn't have any other way of expressing yourself.

You need to STOP BUYING FOOD IN A SUPERMARKET AND START SHOPPING in a high end pet food store. I usually NEVER recommend pet food for animals because I cook organically for my dogs. But having said that, FOR YOU, considering what you are feeding now, a high end dog food, OTHER THAN PEDIGREE would be a vast improvement. Go check out Wellness or Calif. Natural or Natural balance..talk to an animal nutritionist. Go on line. Research. Feed your pup four times a day, smaller amts. Buy some organic yams (great fiber), bake them and give your pup a tablespoon twice a day in two of his meals. STOP THE MILK AND PEDIGREE.

I sincerely hope that your Tyler is doing well, is on a good diet and ia happy little fellow by the time you are reading this. I am so sorry that you took such offense when I was only trying to help you but that's life sometimes. All the best with the little fella...S.

Hello again,
I will not apologize for my very, very knowledgeable answer but I am terribly sorry that you couldn't handle the truth about how poorly you are feeding your puppy. I suggest you tell your vet or someone, like myself, another person what you are feeding and get their response. You will not be disappointed...you will get the same answer. I AM SORRY that the truth hurt you so much and made you so defensive and angry. I WAS trying to help you and WAS TRYING TO SHAKE YOU UP A BIT TO MAKE YOU FEED YOU PUP IN A HEALTHY WAY. YOU SAY YOU 'LOVE' YOUR PUPPY..great then get him on some nutritious food and SHOW THAT LOVE. Feeding your pup what you are currently feeding is a true recipe for disaster down the road. Why did you ask anyone for help if you didn't want it? Why did you bother? I wish you had been able to handle the truth because now I believe your pup is going to continue to be fed what will eventually make him pretty sick--unless he is lucky.
Again, I am sooooo sorry that you could not handle my bluntless...and again, I was BLUNT because I wanted YOU to get the message. Instead, all you got, was mad at me. This certainly is not going to help your puppy. I had all kinds of references for you to help you dog but you are too focused on being angry with me. Does this help your dog? By the way, how would YOU KNOW IF I AM KNOWLEDGEABLE since you wrote to the site for help? If you were so sure that I didn't know what I was talking about then you would be the expert.
It is just so silly of you to focus on being mad at me when your pup needs help. But I can tell that you are one of those people who has serious anger issues and would rather lash out than help your dog...seems that way anyway. NO OTHER PERSON THAT YOU CONTACT WHO HAS ANY DOG EXPERIENCE AT ALL WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWERS YOU WANT TO HEAR. If you want to be told that you are doing everything right, there are plenty of people who will tell you that and they will make you smile. Now, what about nutrition for your dog?? Think about it. The help is here. I have terrific nutritionists waiting to help you. But, you obviously do not want help. I am so sorry. Sue

Have you seen a vet? If so, did this vet agree with your pedigree and mild diet? If he or she DID, then get another vet. Please, please learn how to raise you pup. It's not rocket science...it's common sense in a lot of ways and education in the rest of the ways. If you keep doing what you are doing you are going to have a sick pup for life. Good Luck, Sue
