Question
hi i have a 4 year old tenterfield terrier who acts like she is starving, she has been desexed, and currenty being fed, 100gms tin food one day then 100gms raw meat the next.  she has 1/2 a cup of dry food a day

Answer
HI,
I am so sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I've just moved and I am so busy. Moving is horrendous.

NOt sure what tin food but I'll guess its from a can. What brand are you feeding? What kind of dog food? The RAW IS FANTASTIC so why are you bothering to give her dog food if you are feeding raw?

Her constant hunger could be due to several things but you will have to try and problem solve this a bit more. How many times a day do you feed? How much exercise is she getting? What is her weight? Is it right for her breed, structural build? Does she have worms? When is the last time you took her to a vet for a stool check and bloodwork? I really need more info in order to be a bit more helpful to you but first off I would see your vet. She IS A DOG and dogs will almost always eat so I am not sure that her wanting to eat all of the time is a problem. It probably is but I am just talking here. If she is THAT HUNGRY all of the time, something is lacking ro something is going on internally with her. If she is 100% healthy and still acting like she is starving, try feeding several small meals a day instead of just one if that is what you are doing. If you are only feeding once a day, that is NOT GOOD. You might want to consider some blood work to see if she lacking in some nutrient or Vitamin that is causing her obsession with food. Is she overweight? Underweight?

Wish I could be more helpful but I really do not have enough info here. Feel free to write again but please see your vet first. Something just might be physically wrong and this is why she is so ravenous. Let me know, Susan
