Question
My 8 yr old doxie weighs about 17lbs and I feed her Iams weight control food and no more than 3/4-1C a day(divided a.m/p.m.) but she is constantly going to sit at the cabinet every 3-4 hrs whinning for food. What kind of diet can I feed her to keep her full and satisfied but help her drop those extra pounds too??

Answer
Possibly she may be more satisfied with a food that's higher in quality protein.  Some of the weight control formulas have fillers and too much carbs, but protein is filling longer- and maybe 3 smaller meals a day would be better.  You could also try giving her food in a treat ball, interactive toy that dispenses kibble as the dog moves it around.  More exercise and mental stimulation will help her.  Evo brand has a good weight management food.

To add something without a lot of calories sometimes people add a bit of cooked green beans or carrots to the food, could also be used as a low-calorie treat.
